It was definitely a good year at the Prairie Canada Carving Competition, with my fox carving “Mouser” taking in the Best of Show Award, as well as being chosen as the People’s Choice Award. As well, my pumpkinseed fish carving won 2nd in the division.

The wins have also meant some good publicity - with an interview televised on Shaw Cable, as well as a story in the Selkirk Journal:

Fox carving finished, burnt and painted displayed at the Kanne Family Exhibition in Selkirk, MB.

The Kanne family will be exhibiting works by my sons Mason Kanne, Miles Kanne, Vergil Kanne, my father Matt Kanne as well as a variety of wood carving, watercolour paintings and rug hooking by myself.
